Vollbracht Furs has been established in 1912 by Alex Vollbracht, and was located in downtown Akron. Harold Miller, the second owner of Vollbracht Furs, had purchased the business after his military service on an assault cargo ship as a first class boatman mate. In 1965, Mr. Miller had moved the store to the newly built, first of its kind, Summit Mall, where it is still located today.
In 1983, Mark Ayzman, a sixth generation furrier, who had learned his trade from his father and grandfather, purchased the business. Looking into the future he began expanding the business by including leather, precious fibers and accessories to the wide assortment of fur garments.
